Sir Harry Solomon is a businessman with interests in enterprises in the UK, US and Israel. His many charitable initiatives include being the co founder and Trustee of The Portland Trust. Sir Harry is a solicitor and Honorary Fellow of The Royal College of Physicians.
Sir Victor Blank
Sir Victor Blank is a leading UK businessman and a former UK Business Ambassador. He has been Chairman of a number of major companies in banking, media, retailing and business services, he advises a number of UK and International institutions and foundations and his philanthropic activities include chairing four UK charities.
Lady Esther Gilbert
Lady Esther Gilbert, Sir Martin’s widow, helped him in his work during the last dozen years of his life and is continuing to maintain his legacy. She is the creator and editor of three volumes of Holocaust Memoir Digest and has been involved in Holocaust commemoration and education since 1983.
Jon is a lawyer and consultant to the not-for-profit sector, having held the most senior positions in a number of national and international charities. He has written, broadcast and given evidence to Parliamentary committees on various issues relating to the Jewish community and helped to develop legislation on matters relating to faith communities generally.
Ruth is a counsellor and a past Chairman of Highgate Synagogue. As a Trustee for UJIA and JLGB, Ruth is keen to develop opportunities for young people to engage with their heritage and Israel through SMGLC.
James is the Executive Partner of Mishcon de Reya LLP. From 2011-2016 he was the Chair of World Jewish Relief and now is the Chair of Prism a charity whose vision is to increase the flow of funds to the charitable sector in the UK. He also chairs the Jewish Community Centre in Krakow. He has an honorary doctorate from the University of Law.
Professor Shirli Gilbert

Shirli Gilbert is Professor of Modern History and Director of the Parkes Institute for Jewish / non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton. She obtained her D.Phil. at the University of Oxford and was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Society of Fellows at the University of Michigan. She is the author of Music in the Holocaust (2005), From Things Lost: Forgotten Letters and the Legacy of the Holocaust (2017), and co-editor, with Avril Alba, of Holocaust Memory and Racism in the Postwar World (2019).
Rabbi Nicky Liss
Director of Religion
Rabbi Nicky Liss is the Rabbi of Highgate Synagogue, where he formed a very close bond with Sir Martin who was an active member of the community. He is also the Chair of the Rabbinical Council of the United Synagogue, the Jewish Chaplain to the Metropolitan Police Service in Haringey and recently completed a Master’s degree in Leadership at the UCL Institute of Education.
Victoria Gordon is an experienced project and event manager. She has a Masters in Museum and Gallery Education and teaches at a number of national museums and London galleries.
