This short course traces the tumultuous journey of the Jews from the medieval ghetto to statehood and beyond, centered around four pivotal moments in history: The Dreyfus Affair, the Kishinev pogrom, Kristallnacht, and the Six-Day War. Presented by Shirli Gilbert, Professor of Modern Jewish History and Director, Parkes Institute for Jewish/non-Jewish Relations, University of Southampton.

The course will present a broad, engaging overview, zooming in on significant, unusual, and extraordinary episodes along the way, all taught through original primary documents. No preparation necessary.
